  Through the glass in my bedroom window

از پنجره‌ی اتاقم...

 
In the bushes far below,
  

در بوته‌های اون پایین...

 
I thought I saw an unfamiliar shadow

Among the ones I so clearly know.

فکر کردم سایه ناآشنایی بین سایه‌های همیشگی دیدم.

 
I've been sleeping with the nightlight unplugged,
 

من با چراغ خواب خاموش می‌خوابم....

With a note on the rocking chair,
 

  با نامه‌ای روی صندلی تابی

  
That says I'm dreaming of the life I once loved,
 

  که توش نوشتم خواب زندگی رو که دوست داشتم می‌بینم...

  
So wake me if you're out there.
 

پس اگه اون بیرونی بیدارم کن

 
Living close to the ground,
 

نزدیک زمین زندگی می‌کنند،

 
It's seventh heaven because there are angels all around,

زمین آسمون هفتمه چون فرشته‌ها اینجان!

 
Among my frivolous thoughts,

در بین افکار احمقانه‌ام....

 
I believe there are beautiful things seen by the astronauts

من باور دارم که فضانوردان چیزای زیبایی می‌بینن ( فرشته‌ها رو می‍‌بینن)

So wake me if you're out there

پس اگه اون بیرونی بیدارم کن!

In the dust on my cellar staircase

توی خاک روی پله‌های زیرزمین....

A pair of footprints followed me

(دیدم) که یک جفت رد پا دنبالم می‌کنن،

I saw a flicker in the fake fireplace

جنبشی توی شومینه مصنوعی دیدم

Blinked again, but there was nothing to see

دوباره پلک زدم ولی چیزی ندیدم.

I've been leaving all the windows unlocked

من تمام پنجره‌هارو باز میزارم....

 With a basket by the oak tree

و سبدی کنار درخت بلوط میزارم...

Cause I'll be picking up the acorns that fall off,
If you'll be climbing up to meet me

چون من بلوطای افتاده وقتی که از درخت بالا میای تا منو ببینی رو جمع میکنم.

Living close to the ground

نزدیک زمین زندگی می‌کنند،

 زمین آسمون هفتمه چون فرشته‌ها اینجان!

I keep my knees black and blue 'cause they often hit the hardwood floor

زانو‌های من سیاه و کبودن چون اغلب به زمین سخت می‌خورن ( منظورش از دعا کردن زیاده)

And I believe, so I'm not praying to the ceiling anymore

 و من ( وجود فرشته‌هارو) باور دارم ، پس دیگه رو به سقف دعا نمی‌کنم.

I guarantee there are angels around your vicinity!

من باور دارم که فرشته‌ها در نزدیکی شمام هستن!
